Halloween Decor Ideas for Your Porch and Rooms

See Halloween decorations on a photo of your own porch or room before you buy anything. Upload the photo in the studio below, create a design, then tap Decorate for Halloween on the result.

Living rooms, bedrooms, entryways and any other room. For a porch, choose Porch.

Decorate for Halloween keeps the space and adds the decor: carved pumpkins, candles, autumn leaves and a few playful spooky accents in a room, and pumpkins, lanterns, an autumn wreath on the door and warm string lights on a porch. It works on a design made from your own photo, so you judge the decorations in your space rather than in a stock picture.

How to decorate your photo for Halloween

  1. Upload a photo of your room or porch

Use the studio on this page: choose Room or Porch above it, then add one well-lit photo. Photograph a porch from the path or the street, with the front door and the steps in view.

  2. Create a design

Pick a style and create the design. It uses 1 credit, and a guest gets 3 free credits a day. In a room, tick My furniture and Flooring under Keep first to stay close to it; a house design keeps the porch unless you untick Porch under Keep.

  3. Tap Decorate for Halloween

In October it is the first idea on the result. The editor opens with the change ready: review it, then apply. It is a normal edit: it uses 5 credits and needs a free account.

Halloween decor ideas, from the porch to the mantel

Ideas to plan with. Decorate for Halloween adds its own mix of pumpkins, candles and autumn accents; to try one of these instead, type it as your own change in the editor, at the same edit price.

  • PorchCarved pumpkins in three sizes on the steps, an autumn wreath on the door, lanterns with warm candles and orange string lights along the railing. Two or three colors read best from the street.
  • EntrywayA bench or a narrow table with a stack of small pumpkins, a bowl for treats and a garland of autumn leaves. Keep the way to the door clear for trick-or-treaters.
  • Living roomOrange and black cushions, a plaid throw, candles grouped on the coffee table and a garland along a shelf. Changing a few accessories is enough to make the room feel seasonal.
  • MantelCandlesticks at different heights, small pumpkins, dried branches and one playful accent such as a raven or a skull. Put the tallest pieces at the ends so the mantel looks balanced.
  • Garden pathLanterns or carved pumpkins every few steps, warm lights along the edge and gourds tucked into the border. Light the route to the front door so visitors can find it after dark.

Halloween decorating questions

Is it free?

Starting is free. Creating the design uses 1 credit: a guest gets 3 free credits a day, a free account 4. Decorate for Halloween is an edit, so it uses 5 credits, the normal edit price, and needs a free account. New accounts get bonus credits when they sign up, and paid plans add monthly credits. The editor shows the price before you apply, and credits are spent only when you apply.

Will it keep my furniture?

The edit asks the AI to keep the walls, floor, furniture and windows and only add decor; on a porch it keeps the house, roof, windows and planting. Results vary: every edit is a new version, so compare it with the one before and undo it if you prefer. The edit decorates your design, which is a redesign in the style you picked, so tick My furniture and Flooring under Keep before you create the design if you want it close to your room.

Can I use a photo of my porch?

Yes. Choose Porch above the studio, or House in the studio itself, and take the photo from the path or the street with the front door, steps and railing in view. On a house design the edit adds carved pumpkins, lanterns, an autumn wreath on the door and warm string lights.

When is Decorate for Halloween available?

Through October, from the 1st to the 31st by the date on your device: it is the first idea on each result and in the editor. In a few countries where Diwali is widely celebrated, Decorate for Diwali leads instead in the two weeks before it. At any other time you can type the same change in your own words in the editor.

Can I decorate for other holidays?

Yes. Decorate for Christmas leads the ideas from November 20 to December 26: a decorated tree, garlands and warm string lights in a room, lights along the roofline and a wreath on the door outside. Where they are widely celebrated, Diwali and Lunar New Year have their own edits in the weeks before them.
