What is the standard backsplash height?

The standard backsplash height is 4 inches (a single row of 4" tile). Extended backsplashes run 18" to the bottom of upper cabinets. Full-height backsplashes go all the way to the ceiling.

How many subway tiles do I need per square foot?

For standard 3" x 6" subway tiles, you need 8 tiles per square foot. For 4" x 8" subway tiles, you need 4.5 tiles per square foot. Always add 10% for cuts and waste.
